Jeffrey Webb is a former president of the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), which is the governing body for soccer in the Americas. He was elected as president in May 2012, and served until 2015.
During his time as president, Webb was credited with trying to modernize and professionalize CONCACAF, and also played a key role in securing the successful bid for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be held in North America.
However, in May 2015, Webb was arrested in Switzerland along with several other top FIFA officials on charges of corruption and racketeering. He later pleaded guilty and was banned from soccer for life. In addition, he was ordered to pay more than $6.7 million in fines and restitutions.
Webb now lives in the United States and is reportedly cooperating with authorities in ongoing investigations into corruption in FIFA and other international soccer organizations.
